Central Avenue Median Update

You may have noticed that the Central Avenue median between 27th and 37th Avenue NE was stripped bare and cleaned in late September. For the past several years the median has suffered due to harsh weather, salt and plowing, occasional accidents and overall neglect.

Neighborhood Garage Sale, Saturday, September 17

This year's Waite Park and Audubon Park Neighborhood Yard/Garage Sale is set for this Saturday, September 17th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Over 40 households are holding sales with a wide variety of merchandise.

2011 Season of Audubon Farmers' Market to Begin June 23

The 2011 season of the Audubon Farmers' Market begins on June 23. Visit the market every Thursday, from 4 to 7pm, on Johnson Street at 27th Ave. from late June through mid September. ANA, in partnership with Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, hosts the weekly market as part of the Homegrown Minneapolis initiative.

Waiting for Godot to be Performed at Hollywood Theater

Something's happening at the Hollywood! For the first time since it closed in 1987, the theater will house a performance-"Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett will be staged by Theatre Pro Rata.

Rain Garden Consultations Still Available; Deadline May 25

Rain gardens are beautiful – and environmentally significant – landscaping features that are gaining popularity. ANA is partnering with Metro Blooms and the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization to educate Audubon homeowners about the benefits and beauty of rain gardens.

The 2010 season of the Audubon Farmers' Market is underway. Visit the weekly market Thursday afternoons from 4 to 7pm at the Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church parking lot at 27th Ave. and Johnson St.

Movies in the Park Comes to Audubon Park on June 28

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has packed more than 80 movies into its third annual Movies in the Parks series. The mobile series, which travels to parks across the city throughout the summer, will run Monday through Saturday, June 14-Aug. 28. "Batman Begins" will be shown at Audubon Park on Monday, June 28.

"Buying into the City" Tour Comes to Northeast on Sunday, June 13

Sponsored by LiveMSP.org, the Buying into the City home tour will be held in Northeast Minneapolis on Sunday, June 13. Participants can pick up a map, enjoy refreshments, and learn about homebuyer programs between 11am and 1pm at the Rogue Buddha Gallery, 357 13th Ave. NE. Then between noon and 3pm, you can tour available homes around Northeast at your own pace.
