In partnership with Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, ANA is planning a neighborhood farmers' market to be held on Thursdays from 4 to 7pm beginning June 25. It will be held in the Gustavus Adolphus parking lot on the southwest corner of 27th and Johnson.

National Night Out is coming up fast, and now is the time to start making preparations on your block for the night that brings neighbors together. This year, National Night Out (NNO) is Tuesday, Aug. 4. June 15-21 is Minneapolis National Night Out Planning Week.

The "I Love Northeast Festival," scheduled for June 19 through 24, is a one-time event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Celebrate Northeast Parade for the entire community! There will be family fun as well as some events geared just for grownups. Events include a pushcart derby, street dance, teen dance, pub crawl and fireworks.

The Celebrate Northeast Parade takes place on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 6:30-9:00pm. The parade, celebrating its 80th anniversary, is the second oldest in Minnesota. The parade draws 8,000 people along the thirteen block route of Central Avenue.

The Canadian Pacific Railroad is seeking development proposals for two properties it owns in Northeast Minneapolis: a 17.9 acre site along Central Avenue 28th Avenue NE and 30th Avenue NE and an 18.5 acre property along the south side of St. Anthony Parkway, west of Central Avenue. Proposals are due on June 1.

The City of Minneapolis housing inspections staff plan to inspect of parts of Audubon Park beginning in June to address property maintenance violations. Neighbors are reminded to keep their properties in compliance with city ordinances and report code violations by calling 311 or online.

Over 1,600 visitors attended an open house at the Hollywood Theater on Saturday, May 16. ANA would like to thank everyone who attended.
