NEMS Project update from Patrick Sarver –there’s an underutilized parking asset that we would like to turn into something better

Council Member update from Kevin Reich

Kathy Waite update from the 2nd precinct,

  • Block club leader training in February
  • Talking crime statistics

WingDing update from Lindsey Hit—May 7th –looking for volunteers to make wings and to judge the event, adding a plant swap to the event ANA’s contribution to this whole thing

Moving office space update from Egan update on where we could possibly move to—getting out of our current space

Old business/new business Update on the Hollywood theater project, from Andy a community member in Windom Park, feasibility of it to be a theater—conversations about having it be a movie theater

Terri moved, Sonja seconded

Approve Agenda
Sonja wished to add job description and personnel policy discussion to agenda
Sonja moved to approve the agenda, Terri seconded

Presentation for Bill Sauerwein, former board member interested in rejoining the board
Bill discussed his qualifications—former board member, on 4H, Clean Sweep,
Vote was unanimous to add Bill to the board

ANA Farmers Market is Looking for Vendors

The 2016 ANA Farmers Market vendor application is now available! Our season this year will begin on June 2 and run through September 29. The market is located on 27th & Johnson Street in the Gustavus Adolphus parking lot. Interested vendors are encouraged to download an application and get it in by May 13. Questions should be directed to the ANA office: 612-788-8790.

Marie moved to approve the agenda, Don seconded, and additional action times were added.

Finance Update

Meeting next Monday, looking at potential for increased staff time

Sonja suggested a monthly financial statement would be more helpful than a yearly statement as it would be a better understanding of what’s going on.

Egan/Luke update on on-going situation with what’s going on with NECP money. Working with attorney and bank to determine exactly what can be done

Housing Committee Update-Terri wasn’t at meeting

Funding of the neighborhood project would happen at the earliest in March

School Parks Environment Committee

Notice of ANA Funds Transfer

The Audubon Neighborhood Association has been awarded an action grant of $50,000 from the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) to construct a rain garden along 29th Avenue NE, in the south parking lot of Northeast Middle School. The project will be funded both by MWMO and the ANA. In order to fully fund the project, ANA announced at the community meeting held on April 4, 2016, that $10,000 is being moved from the Commercial Property Improvement Fund to the Parks and Environment Investment Fund.

II. Vote for Neighborhood Priority Plan—NEMS Project
President Egan Haugesag introduced the concept and scope of the project to the community.

Marty asked for clarification on how much money is being moved—$15,000 is the exact number. A question was asked about the origin of the funding. Luke explained it was originally a part of the CPP.

Marty Schrieber moved to allocate the funds. Don Sellers seconded. The motion passed by unanimous community vote.
