There’s a new Thai restaurant in Northeast: Sen Yai Sen Lek.
Sen Yai Sen Lek offers authentic preparations of traditional Thai dishes in an upbeat atmosphere. Beer and wine are available, and of course, they offer take-out.
Residents may remember Sen Yai Sen Lek had planned to open in Audubon, on Central at 30th Ave. As it all worked out, they’re now on Central a few doors south of Lowry. That’s in the Holland neighborhood, but we in Audubon Park are happy to lend support and encouragement beyond our borders.
Be sure to give Sen Yai Sen Lek a try. They’re having a Grand Opening event which runs through October 15th. The comments below are open, so let everyone know what you thought of this newest addition to the Central Avenue experience.

First Visit
Wed, 09/24/2008 - 19:43 — Mark FoxI stopped in to get some take-away dinner. I was greeted promptly, and escorted to the bar to place my order.
I chose a fried tofu appetizer (Taohoo Tod), a noodle dish (Pad Kee Mao), and a Boylan’s soda while I waited. Service was friendly and quick. All together, my total was under $18.
The tofu had a nice texture. The accompanying sauce was more sweet than spicy. The noodles had an gummy/oily texture in a good comfort-food way. The vegetables in the dish were still toothsome and their flavor distinct from the noodles.
Overall, the spice was lively but by no means “hot”. Next time I might ask for a little more kick. But, I love raw jalapeno and use Tabasco by the spoonful instead of the drop.
