Construction of a new bicycle facility through Audubon is slated for late his summer. The Stone Arch Bridge bicycle boulevard is proposed to run along 6th Avenue SE, and Fillmore, Polk, and Tyler Streets NE. It will connect the Stone Arch Bridge to 37th Ave NE. A bicycle boulevard is a residential street with low auto traffic volumes, which provides shared lanes (bikes and cars together) in the middle of the street. Features such as pavement markings and way finding signs for bicycles are minimum requirements, while features such as traffic calming and improvements to busy crossings are added amenities.Visit the project website for a map of the route and details.
