The Meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.

ANA Board Members present: Sonja Peterson, Don Sellers, Sean Koebele, Adam Sieve, Kevin Kelly, Jessica Kracl and Nic Baker.
Absent: Jeff Smyser and Justin Kwong.

The October 1, 2013 Community meeting minutes were moved by Sonja Peterson and seconded by Marty Schirber and approved unanimously.

Nic Baker: Solar powered motion detector program, Jessica will look into.

The board is going to hold a strategic planning session to work on developing ideas to further neighborhood goals. Hopefully the planning session will happen in January.

Adam is working on a neighborhood outreach plan which is to gather demographic data by community survey and hopefully discover unmet community needs through these surveys which neighbors will complete. Adam will lead the outreach plan which will be conducted with help from NCR staff through engaging neighbors during community events.

Hollywood Building update: Andrew Volna is seeking the extension of his exclusivity agreement with the City. Andrew and his team have been gathering bids on the redevelopment costs on the proposed project. We hope to have Andrew meet with the community at the February Community meeting.

NE College Prep Charter School: Erika Sass, Dean of Teaching, and Carl Phillips, Director, of the NE Prep Charter School presented to the community. They are looking to open NE College Prep in August of 2014.

Carl stated the school is going to emphasize addressing achievement gaps in the education system and NE College Prep is going to be modeled on the Global Academy Charter school in Columbia Heights of which 90% of the students are low income students.

Emma Strauss, Community Outreach Specialist, for the Center for Energy and the Environment (CEE) presented to the community. She is interested in re-investing in CEE’s Energy Audit program which was very popular in the Audubon neighborhood. Strauss stated that Centerpoint Energy and Xcel Energy Utilities are providing some funding of the program. Subsidies from the Utilities and the City will help to reduce the cost to property owners.

The ANA community meeting adjourned at 8:45.
