LUC February Summary

The ANA Land Use Committee met on February 17th, 2009.

29th Ave Streetscape:
Members of the Committee attended a meeting of the several government stakeholders on February 10th. The meeting was coordinated by Councilmember Ostrow. A brief summary of the plan and our talking points for the meeting are attached below.

Next Community Meeting: April 6th, 7pm

April agenda to be determined.

The Audubon Park community meets 4 times each year in the Salvation Army’s King Community Center at 2727 Central Avenue. Parking is available. Enter through the south door.

Next Community Meeting: February 2nd, 7pm

This month is our annual Taste of Audubon. Bring your appetite and enjoy free food provided by neighborhood businesses.

This month’s agenda includes:

  • State of the Neighborhood – ANA’s new president Matt Brown will review the work done by the board in 2008 and take a look at what’s coming up.
  • Board Election – A community member will be elected to the remaining vacant position on the ANA Board

Audubon Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting and Board Election

On our October agenda:

  • Recently, the Northeast Community Development Corporation (NE/CDC) worked with ANA to canvass the Audubon Park neighborhood door to door. John Vaughn from NE/CDC will discuss the canvass and how it relates to increasing ANA's capacity to better represent and serve Audubon Park.
  • Presentation/Update from MetroPlains on the planned development at Lowry & Polk St.
  • Board of Directors Election: There are several available positions for the upcoming 2009–2010 term.
